LGBT themed documentary is currently searching for participants

Advertorial

Are all gay men camp? Are all gay women butch? Are all drag queens gay, confused or perhaps even trans? The world is continuously changing, but people’s mindsets are often slow in the uptake or resist change.

Many problematic myths and stereotypes play a role in the mischaracterisation, dehumanisation and alienation of the LGBT community, and often perpetuated out of ignorance or prejudice. It is prevalent not in only heterosexual circles, but very much at play in the LGBT community too. These false beliefs and generalisations about people, if not challenged, prevail and often end up as another fictional, novel in mediocrity’s library of  ‘truths’.

While those who support LGBT equality sometimes innocently engage in stereotyping LGBT people, it is ultimately those who promote heterosexist, misogynistic, transphobic and homophobic agendas who are the most likely to draw on myths and stereotypes in their efforts to rationalise discrimination.

Wrap Pictures is currently looking for interesting people to interview for an upcoming independent documentary on this matter.
