GAY DIVING LEGEND MARRIES
Gay American Olympic diving legend Greg Louganis (53) has married his boyfriend Johnny Chaillot (52).
The couple, dressed in white suits, tied the knot in Malibu in front of 160 guests on Saturday.
“It was amazing because I have so many people from all facets of my life here tonight and they are all here and celebrating it is all wonderful,” Louganis told PEOPLE magazine.
“I already feel different. The ceremony was so reflective and representative of who we are,” he added.
The couple met online and have been dating since 2012.
Louganis won a silver and four gold Olympic medals and was a five time World Champion in the 1980s.
He famously hit his head on the springboard during a dive at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and was later criticised for not disclosing at the time that he was HIV positive.
Despite there being no risk that the small amount of blood in the water could have infected other divers he was dropped by most of his sponsors when he did reveal that he was positive.
