RICKY MARTIN TO RELEASE BIOGRAPHY IN NOVEMBER

Advertorial

Out Latino superstar Ricky Martin has announced that his autobiography will be on bookshelves in November.

The book, to be published by Celebra, a division of the Penguin Group, will be released simultaneously in English and Spanish — entitled Me and Yo respectively.

According to a statement from the publishers, in Me, Martin opens up for the first time about his early childhood, his experiences in the boy band Menudo and the challenges of increased fame that came with the Livin’ La Vida Loca phenomenon.

Martin – who came out as gay in March and is a father of twin boys birthed by a surrogate mother – is also said to explore life-changing decisions like coming to terms with his sexuality, becoming a father, and devoting himself to helping children around the world.

“Writing this book allowed me to explore the different paths and experiences that have led me to be who I am today,” said Martin.

“I’ve had to tie up loose ends that I’d never attempted to tie up before, to work deeply into memories that were already erased from my mind. Allowing myself to do this was not easy, but once I started an incredible spiritual healing began… and I wanted to share my sense of discovery.”

Martin has sold more than 60 million albums worldwide. He is the founder of the Ricky Martin Foundation, a non-profit organisation that advocates for children around the world.
