Ever since the pop legend’s death, rumours have been circulating as to who will replace Michael Jackson’s 50 night stint at London’s O2 Arena.

The most popular theory is a tribute show for the King of Pop, featuring members of the Jackson family as well as other musicians using the same sets and costumes which were made for the original “This is it” tour.

However no details have yet been confirmed, and there are concerns that a tribute concert featuring many bands would not be able to play for more than a few nights, due to scheduling conflicts. “Fifty nights is absolutely out of the question,” said music writer John Aizlewood. “Nobody in the Jackson family is capable of selling out the O2 for even one night, not even Janet.”

Apparently O2 operator AEG Europe have also approached 70’s pop group ABBA to reunite for the 50 night tour, despite the fact that they vowed never to perform together again. If they are unsuccessful in finding a replacement, the 23 000 seat arena will be empty for nearly three months.
