PEREZ HILTON DONATION REJECTED

Perez Hilton’s plan to donate any money awarded to him in a lawsuit against the Black Eyed Peas’ road manager, Liborio Molina, to an LGBT charity has been rejected by the organisation.

Hilton (real name Mario Armando Lavandeira), who claims he was attacked by Molina last week, has reportedly filed a $ 25,000 civil lawsuit against him. The celebrity blogger was allegedly punched several times by Molina after he insulted the Black Eyed Pea’s latest album.

Hilton said he intended to donate the proceeds of the lawsuit to the Matthew Shepard Foundation. The foundation celebrates the life of Matthew Shepard, who died tragically in 1998 as the result of a homophobic hate crime.

However, according to an official statement on its website, Judy Shepard, who chairs the foundation, said that she had no advance notice or contact from Hilton or his representatives.

She went on to say that, “because the lawsuit presumably involves the physical attack prompted by Mr. Hilton’s admitted use of an anti-gay slur, the Foundation will be unable to accept any funds obtained in such a manner.”

Hilton admitted that he called will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas a “faggot” before the alleged assault, although he since apologised for his use of the slur.

“While we applaud Mr. Hilton’s apology to the LGBT community and their loved ones for his use of such a slur, we also feel compelled to point out that use of epithets can often lead to physical violence, as it appears it may have in this case, and that the Matthew Shepard Foundation has worked for more than 10 years to bring to people’s attention the consequences of hateful or intolerant language,” Shepard said.
