GAY SOAP COUPLE FINALLY CONSUMMATE RELATIONSHIP

Gay American soap opera fans have praised an episode of As the World Turns in which a long-standing gay couple finally had sex, reports Afterelton.com.

The relationship between Luke (Van Hansis) and Noah (Jake Silbermann) on the CBS television serial has gripped fans over the last year and a half, but the show came under fire for continually stalling the consummation of their relationship.

On Monday, however, producers surprised viewers by showing the two men exchanging a passionate kiss, moving to the bedroom and then beginning to undress.

After a commercial break, they emerged from the shower with Noah commenting, “I know we did wait for a long time, but it was worth it.”

“The scenes in yesterday’s episode were a natural progression of their relationship,” Lisa Lugassy, Senior Publicist for As the World Turns, told Afterelton.com, “and the time seemed right for this couple to reach this milestone.”

The episode has been described as a historic one for showing a sexual relationship on daytime network television in the US for the first time.

The characters of Luke and Noah were also the first to share a gay male kiss on daytime television on August 17, 2007. The YouTube video of the kiss was reportedly one of the most-watched clips on the website the following day and has since been seen over two-million times.
