RONALDO TRANSVESTITE SCANDAL

Brazilian football star Ronaldo (not to be confused with Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo) has been implicated in a fracas with three transvestites in Rio de Janeiro.

According to the authorities, the 31 year old met three women, described as prostitutes, at a nightclub in the upmarket Barra da Tijuca area on Sunday night.

The group left the nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning and went to a motel where he apparently, only then, discovered that they were actually men.

He offered each of the transvestites around $600 to end the matter, an offer which one refused. The football player told the authorities that this individual threatened to go public with the events if he did not pay her around $30 000.

The transvestite claims that Ronaldo asked her to buy him drugs, which he has denied.

The sports star, who plays for AC Milan, is in Brazil recovering from an injury. The authorities said that they were investigated the matter.
